Helpful tips while taking a parasitic cleanse:
Drink plenty of water and if possible reduce sugar and processed food intake 1 week prior to starting your cleanse.
1. Black Walnut:
Black walnut hulls are a primary botanical used in parasite cleanses due to their antiparasitic and anti-fungal properties, which help eliminate intestinal worms and Candida overgrowth. The hulls contain juglone, a naphthoquinone that inhibits metabolic enzymes in parasites, and high levels of tannins that act as astringents and natural laxatives to expel harmful organisms from the digestive tract.
2. Wormwood:
Wormwood is a potent antiparasitic herb traditionally used to eliminate intestinal worms like roundworms and pinworms by disrupting their metabolism via active compounds like thujone and artemisinin. It is most effective when taken daily for a protocol lasting 14–30 days, ideally on an empty stomach to maximize contact with parasites.
To ensure comprehensive coverage of the parasite life cycle, wormwood should be combined with black walnut hull (which disrupts adult parasite membranes) and clove (which destroys eggs). Taking these three herbs together prevents eggs from hatching and restarting the infestation, a limitation of using wormwood alone.
3. Cloves:
Clove is a key component in traditional parasite cleanse protocols, primarily because its main compound, eugenol, is unique in its ability to target and disrupt parasite eggs, preventing reinfection. While wormwood and black walnut hull are typically used to target adult parasites and larvae, cloves are essential for breaking the reproductive cycle. The evidence for cloves is largely preclinical, with laboratory and animal studies showing eugenol can inhibit egg hatching and reduce parasite viability.
Caution: should be avoided by those with nut allergies, pregnant or breastfeeding women, and individuals on medication without consulting a healthcare practitioner.
